Each one of our children has taught us something different. Akshya has taught us a lot about faith. I call our adoption of Akshya (from India) our faith journey.  God has given us another beautiful child, through the gift adoption; she truly is the labor of my heart. The day we went to the orphanage to get Akshya was a dream come true and I had it all planned out in my head what it would be like. When the workers placed Akshya in my arms I immediately wept, our baby was safe in our arms. It wasn’t until we returned home that I realized the significance of that moment. It was the same feeling as the moment my three other beautiful babies were place in my arms. It doesn’t matter how God chooses to grow our family, birth or adoption, children are truly a gift from God. We count it a privilege that God in Heaven saw fit to enable our family to travel around the world to bring Akshya home to be a part of our family. 

We can’t say a big enough thank-you for what Life International has done in partnering with our family in God’s bigger plan of adoption! Our adoption of Akshya has given us a bigger view of faith and trust! When we partner with God, it is exciting to watch Him work We trust Him to continue to guide us as and to remind us that adoption is at the very heart of God and Caring for orphans is about obedience…. It is about knowing the God in whom we serve.

We were a family who did not have money set aside to adopt, but God called us to adopt. We stepped out on faith and He has provided above and beyond what we imagined!!
